SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW), Total Group (n = 60)

During the 2016-17 school year, 60 juniors at United Township High School in Illinois participated in the ZAPS program to prepare for the SAT. Their SAT EBRW Pre-Test scores averaged 467.7 (out of 800 possible) before ZAPS training. After ZAPS, the scores of 44 students increased, three students' scores remained the same, and 13 students' scores decreased. On average, their SAT EBRW scores increased by 52.2 points to 519.8.

SAT EBRW Higher-Performing Group (n = 22)

Twenty-two (22) United Township High School juniors scored 500 or better on the SAT EBRW Pre-Test. After participating in ZAPS, the scores of 16 students increased, two students' scores remained the same, and four students' scores decreased. Their SAT EBRW scores increased by an average of 32.3 points.

SAT EBRW Lower-Performing Group (n = 38)

Thirty-eight (38) United Township High School juniors scored below 500 on the SAT EBRW Pre-Test. After participating in ZAPS, the scores of 28 students increased, one student's scores remained the same, and nine students' scores decreased. Their SAT EBRW scores increased by an average of 63.7 points.
